InSide HBCU Fitness & Style with T. C. Logan -" The Logan Legacy Lives On"

Q. What is your name, what college or university do you attend?
A. Thomas (TC) Logan of Stillman College

Q. What is your position on the field?
A. Tight End and Wide Receiver

Q. What types of activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
A. In my spare times I enjoy playing basketball, hunting, bowling, and just being around family.

Q. As a leader how do you get others to follow you when you are in a leadership
role ?
A. As a leader I believe that you must first establish yourself with a form of trust with your teammates and that they will believe in you to help lead in certain situations. The trust will come through them seeing your work ethic and trying to do all the little things right.

Q. What is your workout routine, how do you keep yourself in shape and competitive on and off the field?
A. My workout routine is very intense in-season and in the off-season. Everything I do over exaggerated to become as close as field play as I can get it. In the off-season my trainer focus on getting bigger, faster, and stronger. Not only physically but mentally as well. My trainer does a great job of pushing my ability pass satisfactory and without him I wouldn’t became the type of player I am today. In-season I have a specific workout that helps me maintain all the strength gained in the off-season (flexibility is also a key trait to prevent injuries).

Q. What’s your main passion in life?
A. My main passions in life to be successful in whatever path that God leads me into. When I think of passion I think of love and the love of my family is the most influential thing that fuels me each and everyday.
Q. What is your strengths and weakness on the field?
A. My strengths on the field are my size and speed at my position over smaller DB’s and slower LB’s. No player is perfect but I feel that any weaknesses that a player knows of are their own fault for lack of preparation. One thing that I am working on is not to become overly excited during games and try to do too much at once instead of playing assigned football.

Q. Tell me your interest in InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine, and what did you get from the experience.
A. My interest in this fitness and style is to help exposed myself to those people who know me and those who do not know me. From this experience, I’ve experience the media lifestyle and the importance of networking which this have open doors for me in meeting new people.

Q. When other athletes see you on the cover of InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine, what do you want to get from this interview when reading this?
A. What I want them to get from this is to know that every great opportunity that presents itself that you should seize the moment and live life for what its worth and when your trying to get somewhere that the process of getting there is just as important as getting there. Most of all I want them to know that no matter how good you think you are or can be that you must believe in higher power than man for the things that goes on in your life.

Q. How does it feel to be apart of The Superior Sports Network (InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine) Family and being the Ambassador to represent The Superior Sports Network Franchise?
A. To be apart of anything positive and productive in life is good, but I feel great to be apart of this franchise that allows me to represent them. The great people that this organization surrounds itself with speak for what the SSN really is.

Q. Who was the Role-Model In your life, and how has him or her pushed you to be the best man you need to be in life?
A. My family was role models and still is to this day. Without different ones knowing it, I have grasps different traits from them that have molded the person that Thomas (TC) Logan is today. The most influential person if I had to choose is a two-headed dragon that consists of both of my older sisters. Words can express the love and gratitude that I have for them because they where there when I felt like I wasn’t even able to do what I have done. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for either of them. The support that they show is indescribable in so many ways. I am very thankful to just know two people as them let a long be related to them is just wonderful. I am very proud to be the little big brother as they call me.

Q. A lot of kids look up to you as a role model. Is being a role model something you take pride in?
A. I take much pride in being a role model to someone that looks up to me because what I do influence him or her in some kind of way at some point in life. With that being said you would want the younger people growing up to make a difference in the world for the good because once you get old they will be the ones running the world and all you can do is sit and live with their decisions.

Q. What is Style to you, how do you keep yourself with the latest style to the next level?
A. Style to me goes hand and hand with character. How you carry yourself tells a lot about a person. If you carry yourself good than you can sell yourself on your appearance alone.

Q. Tell me about being at this point in your career. Have you accomplished everything you’ve set out to accomplish?
A. Being at this point in my life is a great feeling because I am doing things that many do not get the opportunity to do so. I feel that your goals should be set well above reach to keep you always striving for something better than your current status.

Q. You are known for having one of the more eccentric and outgoing personalities in career. Why do you think you have that reputation?
A. I feel that I have that reputation because I am a people’s person and I like to keep good company everywhere I go. Being a student-athletic I am being watch and monitored more than the average student but my personality changes the whole mindset of some people of a football player.

Q. If we did a book/movie about you, what would be the title of the book or movie be, will be a drama, action, thriller, or documentary.
A. If a movie or book was made of me, I feel that it would be a mixture of all with action, comedy, thriller, and adventure titled “The Logan Legacy Lives On”

Shera L. White “Living My Life Like It’s Golden”

What is your name, what college or university do you attend ?

My name is Shera L. White and I’m a Hampton University Pirate!

What is your position/title in the sports field ?

I’ve been the Director of Public Relations for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association for over eleven years.

What types of activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy traveling, gardening, attending fitness classes and playing with my Llasapoo Coco in my spare time.

As a leader how do you get others to follow you when you are in a leadership

role ?

As a leader, I try to empower my team by giving each person projects and tasks that allow them to grow and work at their full potential. I do my best to develop teams that feel a personal investment in the outcome of the work that we do.

What is your work-out routine, how do you keep yourself in shape ? What seperates you from other females in your field ? Are you competitive in your work career ? How so ?

My workout routine is fairly simple- I emphasize weight and cardio training on alternate days of the week. I stay motivated best by attending fitness classes, so you can always catch me in a BodyPump, BodyStep, Kickboxing or Zumba class.

There are only a handful of impactful black females who have served in the role of a conference director of public relations. I believe that my tenure in this position, and the positive changes that I’ve made over time- whether through technology or the functionality of how we do things at the CIAA, has separated me from the pack.

I wouldn’t say that I’m competitive in my work career, but I do make every effort to protect my personal brand. I value integrity, having a solid work ethic, being a reliable source of help and information and striving to be the best at whatever I do. When you conduct yourself in a way that others can respect, the door of opportunity and advancement is always open to you.

What’s your main passion in life? My main passion in life is to make a positive impact on the lives of people who could use a helping hand.

What is your strengths and weakness in life and on the job ? My strengths and weaknesses in life and on the job are pretty much the same. Strengths: Hard working, reliable, always striving to be better. Weaknesses: I sometimes take situations too seriously and I need to take more time out for myself.

Are you involved in the community, how so, please explain.

I am a special events volunteer for the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), a public relations volunteer for the Virginia Beach chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and I speak to sports management majors at my alma mater, Hampton University. I am also working with local food advocates to bring whole, healthy foods to inner city neighborhoods in the Hampton Roads area.

Is it tough being a female in this sports field, and what are the challenges that you face on a day to day basis ? It’s not as tough as it used to be- being a female in the sports field. Women’s roles in athletics have changed dramatically in the past 10+ years. But, coupled with the progress that we’ve made, there are still a few hurdles that we face. On a daily basis, I don’t meet many challenges that aren’t a part of routine workplace politics.

Tell me your interest in InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine, and why did you decide to be apart of this magazine

I agreed to this interview because I see the importance of African-Americans taking charge and being proactive with their health by educating themselves and adopting healthy lifestyles that will sustain them for a lifetime. College years are the best years to begin developing a healthy, conscious way of living that will set the pace for your adult life.

When other athletes see you on the cover of InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine, what do you want to get from this interview when reading this. I wasn’t an athlete in college, but I’m asked that question all of the time. I think it’s because I’ve begun to treat my body as if I’m in training year-round. I want people to know, that whether you were an athlete in college or not, it’s imperative to embrace fitness and athleticism at any age and stage of your life.

How does it feel to be apart of The Superior Sports Network (InSide HBCU Fitness & Style Magazine) Family and being the Ambassador to represent The Superior Sports Network Franchise ? I’m glad to be a part of a positive operation that uplifts the HBCU community.

Who was the Role-Model In your life, and how has him or her pushed you to be the best person you need to be in life ?

I take inspiration from many sources and many different people. But I look to my parents most of all. They are always supportive, encouraging and are on-call 24-7!

A lot of kids look up to you as a role model. Is being a role model something you take pride in?

I absolutely take pride in being a role model!

What is Style to you, how do you keep yourself with the latest style to the next level ?

Style is relative to me. Each person has their own definition. My style is classic with a little bit of funk!

Tell me about being at this point in your career. Have you accomplished everything you’ve set out to accomplish?

At this point in my career, I’ve accomplished a lot- but I also envision so many new areas to conquer.

If we did a book/movie about you, what would be the title of the book or movie be, will be a drama, action, thriller, or documentary.

My movie/book would be a documentary called “Living My Life Like It’s Golden”
